To new readers, this may seem like the first post I have made, to others you know better. Unfortunately I have had the pleasure of my main database crashing, essentially wiping out everything on the site. Moving forwards, Ill make sure to install a plugin that would backup all my data not only into WordPress itself but to my hard drive / email.

Since we already talking about data backup, here are a few other things you should do to protect all of your essentials.

Install a WordPress plugin to create backups of your database

Backup your smartphone images automatically with DropBox

You could use DropBox to backup your PC as well however the cost of that much storage tends to get expensive. You could use Amazon’s Glacier service, which is explained in this great LifeHacker article.

Save all of your computer’s data to an external hard drive using your router (not all routers are capable of this). Check out this article from CNET. I would recommend the Linksys.

Keep your computer clean and free of viruses. There are plenty of free tools, just please stay away from Norton at all costs.

AVG

Avast

F-Secure

Defragment your computer with Smart Defrag 2 – do yourself a favour and setup a schedule for it.

Cleanup your system with CClean

Hopefully these easy tips can ensure that none of your data disappears and your computer is running in tip top shape!

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
